Luxury homes in the village offer easy access to numerous amenities, such as Silvershell Beach, tennis and sailing clubs, and a handful of shops that comprise the center. Outside of town, there are numerous exclusive enclaves, such as Converse Point, Allens Point, and Piney Point, that are known for their magnificent waterfront homes.

As of August 2021, the median home sale price is $750,000 and the median days on market is 91 days. Luxury real estate prices typically start around $1,000,000 in Marion and reach as high as $7,000,000 for extraordinary waterfront estates.

THE PEOPLE AND LIFESTYLE

Much of life in Marion revolves around its connection to the water. Upon entering the town, one drives past Burr Brothers Boat Yard and through the campus of Tabor Academy, an independent preparatory school known as “The School by the Sea,” before reaching several shops and eateries in the center of the village. Continue down the same road, and eventually, you’ll reach Silvershell Beach, where residents can cool off and splash around in the water during the summer.

Also located in the village is the Beverly Yacht Club, a local institution for sailors and social members, offering sailing classes, launch services, seaside dining, and more. Throughout each summer, the club holds a series of racing regattas and, every other year, hosts the start of the renowned Marion Bermuda Race. Just a short walk from the yacht club, the Sippican Tennis Club is another beloved gathering spot, with eight clay tennis courts that see plenty of action throughout the warmer months of the year.

In the center of the village, Kate’s Simple Eats is a favorite for salads and sandwiches, right next door to the Marion General Store, where you’ll find everything from artisanal meats and cheeses to freshly baked bread. Nearby, the Mary Celeste Whiskey and Wine Library offers up a sophisticated ambience for drinks and appetizers. Other town favorites include the Brew Fish Bar & Eatery and the Atlantic Bistro, serving French classics with a local twist.

Marion also has a lot to offer the golf enthusiast. The prestigious Kittansett Club is home to the town’s flagship course, with 18 immaculate holes located directly on the ocean designed by celebrated course architect William Flynn. The Little Marion Golf Club is a 9-hole public course and, in neighboring Mattapoisett, the Bay Club boasts a championship course designed by PGA pro Brad Faxon.
